Zikrullah In The Light Of Quran, Hadith And Naqiliyat by Mehreen Fatima

Zikr Ullah means “Remembrance of ALLAH (The Almighty)”. We humans are sent into this world for only one true purpose and that is worshiping ALLAH and him only. Not only humans but animals and every little being worships him. One of the main tasks given to us by Allah in order to be worthy of entering Jannah is ZIKRULLAH. Remembering him every second we get, for we are here only because of him and will be taken away by his command only.

According to the Holy Quran: (3:191) “Men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth, (With the thought): "Our Lord! not for naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire.”

Zikr Ullah can do wonders. If Allah can forgive us and all our sins so far by just a small and heartfelt apology, then remembering him every nanosecond can make us do the unthinkable.

A Muslim should have so much faith in Islam and in Allah himself that even rain of candies and chocolates won't seem impossible. We do zikr and ask for forgiveness three times with a sincere heart then right there at that moment, you are considered as pure as an infant right out of its mother's womb.

The Holy Quran, the purest book on earth followed by every Mu'min, has verses that proves that a person who never once remembered Allah Subhan Wattala in this life, will be raised blind on the day of Judgement.

And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind. "He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?" [ Allah] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus, will you this Day be forgotten." And thus, do We recompense he who transgressed and did not believe in the signs of his Lord. And the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more enduring. (Taha: 124-127).

In fact, one of the names of Quran is “Adh Dhikr” as mentioned in Quran itself.

We, Mahdavis-followers of Syed Muhammad JaunpuriPBUH - believe that zikr is compulsory on every Muslim, irrespective of their gender. Zikr with genuine heart can allow us the vision of Allah (SWT) himself.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that “The best Dhikr is la ilahailallahu (There is no deity but God) and the best supplicatory power is Alhumdulillahi (All praise is due to God)”

Common Muslims believe that Dhikr is one of the best ways to enter higher level of Jannah. But we Mahdavis believe that by doing Dhikr, we will achieve vision of Allah from our eyes.

Even Sulaimon (AS) said that remembrance of Allah was greater and better than everything.

Islam has acts which are now proved completely beneficial by scientists while earlier people refused to believe Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Zikr is medication for inner peace. It produces joy and happiness and relieves us from any worries. It's as much necessary for us as water for fishes.

Abu Musa reported, "The likeness of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember Him is like that of a living to a dead person." (Sahih Bukhari)

During the period of Imam Mehdi (AS) and his companions, nobody used to read Quran in a loud voice after the morning and maghrib prayers. And if any child of a seeker of Allah were to cry, his father would take him out of daira, so that seekers in the neighborhood would not be disturbed in their remembrance of Allah by the cries of the child.

Prophet Muhammad (SLW) has said that Satan rests his breasts on the heart of a man, and when man engages in the remembrance of Allah, Satan withdraws and turns his face away, and when the heart of a man ignores the remembrance of Allah, it creates desire in heart of the man.

Zikrullah is basically almost the antidote to every problem for Allah is the one who reduces them if we remember him. Obviously only zikr is the solution, there are prayers and other tasks too. But zikr is one of the easiest ways.

There are many more references, we will be able to find on the Quran, Ahadith and Naqiliyat, few of which are mentioned above.
