Many of us who are staying outside of our dairas, or migrated to other locations due to various reasons such as Educational, Employment or Business purposes have encountered one or the other incident where we have to introduce who we are. Can you offer namaz behind a non Mehdavi?.
He said 'Know who you are, once you know who you are then you will not have any hesitation to say who you are'. He urges all the Mehdavis to know their responsibilities by gaining more knowledge on our faith and practice it religiously. He also advises to show the best of the qualities Husn-e-Aqlaq and ensure that one should not show takabbur / arrogance and attract hatred towards mehdavis.

How to Perform Namaz-e-Taraweeh during Lockdown - a step by step instructional video by Peer Wa Murshid Moulana Qari Haz. Abul Hadi Syed Qasim Manzoor Miya Sahab Qibla

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Faith, Alhamdulillah we have entered / entering the Holy Month of Ramazan. Coincidently this holy month has arrived at a time when almost whole of the word is locked down to combat the deadly virus COVID-19. Let us use this lockdown to our advantage in a systematic way.

The very first thing we do in Ramazan is to rush to our respective masajids to offer the Namaz-e-Tarawee with all our families, neighbors and friends. But unfortunately due to lock down all our masajids are closed in order to support our authorities and governments to control the spread of virus.  Now in these circumstances how to offer Namaz-e-Tarawee is a big question which stormed all the devotees, whether to offer or not, if yes how.

Alhamdulillah, as per a Hadiths which was reported by Hz.Abu Huraiah ra our beloved Prophet (ﷺ) said, إِنَّ الدِّينَ يُسْرٌ  that means Religion is very easy. Masha Allah, Islam has solution for each and every situation. With this in mind when I browsed through our available resources, then  Alhamdulillah, I came across a very informative video by Hz. Peer Wa Murshid Moulana Qari Haz. Abul Hadi Syed Qasim Manzoor Miya Sahab Qibla, Sajjada Nasheen Daira-e-Hasteda.

Masha Allah Hz. Manzoor Miyan has not only explained the fasilat of and history of Namaz-e-Taraweeh but also explained how to perform it during the current lock down under various scenarios. viz: How to offer Namaz while you are a alone, or with family with women and children, or can make make a jamat at home? if yes what are the conditions to be observed etc, what are the conditions of imamat - who can lead?. Which are the suras to be recited, tasbihat to be recited after each dugana.

Please watch this video and also share it with your family and friends so that they too can reap the benefit out of it. You may download the  Taraweeh-Niyyat & Tasbihaat by clicking here.

Fatwa by Peer o Murshid Hz Maulana Abulfatah Syed Nusrat Sahab Qibla on Virtual Taraweeh

An important appeal and clarification on Salaat e Sunnat ul Taraweeh in Mahe Ramzan...

Assalamualaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu dear Brothers and Sisters in Faith...

We wish all our people residing in middle east Chand Mubarak and Ramzan Mubarak.

There is an important Fatwa given by Hazrat Peer o Murshid Syed Abul Fatah Syed Nusrat Sahab Qibla on the offering of Salat e Sunnat ul Taraweeh in the holy month of Ramzan.

It has been conveyed and humbly clarified to all our people in fait that the Taraweeh Namaz cannot be followed through Online Imamat like Zoom /Skype /Webex,etc. This is a very important fatwa for our people to understand that the Physical presence of an Imam is required for being in the congregation (Jamaat).

Online Imamat and Iqteda is unlawful and prohibited as per Fatwa from Hazrat Peer o Murshid Syed AbulFatah Shah Nusrat Qibla Sahab.

Further to the above clarification it is humbly requested by Peer o Murshid
to strictly follow the lockdown due to the ongoing COVID-19 virus pandemic and not to indulge in more than 3-4 gathering for Salat e Sunnat ul Taraweeh.

The Virus (waba) is a horrific one that gets transmitted easily through physical contact or presence of any infected person, and many a times as per nature of this dangerous virus, we are unaware about carrying this Virus.

It is in the best interest to follow the safety norms as led by the respective government / country which is also one of the values Islam teaches us.

Concluding, he has requested to pray maximum in this holiest month of Ramzan such that Allah bestow his Fazal(blessings) and shall eliminate this Waba (Virus) and forgive us for all our small or big Gunah.

Lastly, we at MehdaviaTimes request all our brothers and sisters in faith to follow the above mentioned request by our Murshideen and we pray for the betterment of us, such that Allah Subhan wa Tala bless us with the wealh of Imaan, strengthen our Aqeeda (belief) and accept every deeds of ours done for the sake of Allah Rab ul Izzat.

Aameen ya Rabbal Aalameen

Mahdavi Doctors Association released Recommendations and Guidelines for Funerals (Ghusl & Namaaz-e-Janaza) in the wake of COVID-19 for Mehdavia Community

As the world is witnessing a very dangerous pandemic of the spread of COVID19. Almost all the countries are facing challenges to treat and control its spread using all possible ways. The General acceptance is prevention is better than cure. In order to prevent this pandemic all the countries are following Lock Down & Quarantine very effectively. Though there is enough educational material available on how to prevent this deadly disease, and a detailed video of our brother Dr. Basharath Mehdi (Lodon) [Click here to watch the video], there is no guidelines on what should be done if there is any death due to COVID-19. As the Quran Says كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ الْمَوْت Every soul shall taste death, we should also know the procedure to do the last rites properly.

In order to find a solution for this, a group of doctors our Mehdavia Community, who are spread across the world, had a detailed discussion over a video conference on 19th April 2020, in which over 40+ doctors participated. After a detailed brainstorming & consulting with their peers the doctors formed a task force and went ahead draft a set of recommendations & guidelines to be observed while conducting funerals.

The Mehdavi Doctors Association felt that it is their responsibility to help the authorities to control this spread to safeguard themselves and fellow citizens. They have appealed all our community members to co-operate with the police personnel and follow the recommendations of the government agencies

In a 14-page document which got released today (23 April 2020) they have advised to Implement the guidelines for the ritual bathing (ghusl) and burial of the dead irrespective of whether the death is due to Covid19 or not. It addresses some of General guidelines, Recommendations on Ghusl & Recommendations on Namaz e Janaza.

The Recommendations and Guidelines were made by a team of five doctors, which was further revived by more than 100 doctors from our community. I personally know at many of these doctors, who are not only active in their professions but also are practicing Mehdavi Muslims too, and I have personally spent good time with them, discussing various socio-religious issues and challenges. In order to ensure that the message reach non English readers, the document has been translated in Urdu too.  Which was then sent to All the Murshideen, Anjumans, Masjid Committees and Community leaders through various social media platform.

Dear Brothers & Sisters, as these guidelines were made by our own doctors who also know our aqaid much better and are in contant touch with their Murshideen - they have considered all our religious aspects too while compiling this. It must followed strictly keeping in view the local administrations rules if any and your murshids advice so as to perform the last rites in a respectable and hygienic way so as to avoid any further loss of life.

May Allah swt Protect all our families, neighbours, community, relatives and fellow citizens from this Pandemic of COVID1-19. May Allah swt accept this professional service from our Doctor Brothers, who are though being in different parts of the globe have come together for the cause of our community, and May Allah give them all success in both the world. Aameen, Summa Aameen.

Mahdavia Doctors meet over COVID-19 & Mahdavia community

A Mahdavia Doctors group was formed and over 100 doctors were brought on one platform from all the branches of medicine viz Allopathy, Unani and Homeopathy on 19 April 2020. Out of which about 40 medical doctors participated in a unique e-conference meeting that brought together many specialist doctors and health experts from various fields of medicine across the globe. The meeting was organized to discuss the prevalent COVID19 issue in the context of India and Mahdavia community.

Prominent speakers of this conference were Dr. Syed Basharath Mehdi (Consultant Chest Physician, Lung Cancer Lead, England), Dr. Viqar Syed (Medical Director and Consultant Radiation Oncologist, Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore), Dr. Syed Ibrahim Zubair (Assc. Professor SIMS, Hyderabad and Ass. Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Intensivist, MCH, Dammam), Dr. Muhammad Sarosh Ahmed (Preventive & Social Medicine specialist, Owaisi Hospital, Hyderabad), Dr. Noor Mohammed (Ass. Consultant Neuro-Intensivist, KSMC, Riyadh).

The two and half hour long conference started with Dr. Basharath's address. He discussed the symptomatology, diagnosis, treatment, latest ongoing research and advances on COVID19. He summarized the pandemic situation in UK and also made some vital recommendations to frontline doctors with best practices in the management of COVID19.

Dr Viqar Syed spoke eloquently on a lot of buzz-words such as 'lockdown', 'social-distancing', 'quarantine' and alike. Concerns over where and how do we go ahead post-lockdown were raised. Dr. Syed also explained how India is different in dealing with COVID19 and what challenges it faces considering the socio-economic demography and diversity of India. Special emphasis was laid upon why it is important to cater the needs of the poor and ensure the economic well being of the underprivileged to be successful in sustaining a prolonged lockdown. He further said, it is important to put the food on the plate of the poor to stop them from reaching the supply chain. Government must ensure to feed the people while sustaining the industries and the economy during this difficult time.

Dr. Syed Ibrahim Zubair, who is also an active social worker and takes special interest in community wellbeing by organizing public meetings, community health camps, awareness camps shared his experiences and challenges faced at the grass-root level. He summed up the various strategies adopted by different nations to fight the menace of COVID-19. He emphasized on the need of telemedicine to cater to the health needs of the society in this period of lockdown.

Dr. Sarosh Ahmed, an expert in social and preventive medicine, spoke on strategic aspects of preventive care. He stressed on the need for early and effective lockdown in India. He critically analyzed the response of the government to the pandemic and enlisted the short-comings of the present medical infrastructure in India and identified the gaps that must be bridged. He also mentioned that depending on herd immunity is not an option and highlighted how dangerous and grave the situation is.

Dr. Noor Mohammed discussed the need of the hour as to what and how a Mahdavi doctor should respond in these difficult times. He said that doctors are entrusted with the responsibility to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all mankind. He emphasized on the need of holistic approach to mitigate the psychological, emotional, spiritual, economical stress on individuals due to COVID19. Some key action points were suggested on how one can contribute in fighting this invisible enemy. The need to unite and deliver was underscored.

The conference concluded with a Q&A session that were primarily answered by the aforementioned panelists while other doctors such as Dr. Minhajuddin added their expert comments over chat for further discussion. Dr. Syed Naveed shared briefly, the best practices from UK on dentistry and necessary precautions that must be taken by dentists. He suggested to minimize face to face contact with patients and avoid aerosol generating procedures like drilling except in cases of emergencies.

A common theme that resonated with all the panelists was that there is no cure as of now for the novel Coronavirus and the only strategy to defeat this pandemic is by preventive means like social distancing, isolation and quarantining.

Unprecedented enemy needs innovative and unconventional methods to combat. Overall it was a very successful, informative and insightful meeting.

Furthermore, the core members will meet to chalk-out a plan of action and publish recommendations for the benefit of larger community that will entail topics such as precautions to take for ghusl, namaz e janaza and other logistics of handling an event of death with this sinister bug. A sense of urgency was expressed considering the fast approaching month of Ramzan so that prescribed rules and regulations reach out to the members of the Mahdavia community to ensure safe Taraveeh, Dugana and Eid prayers.

Combating COVID-19 in the light of Quran & Hadith by CS Hashim Saeed

Exactly 7 days from now Ramadan is going to start during this lock down period and I believe some people will try to violate lock down rules of our government in the name of religion; Therefore, it is my humble request/appeal to all my Muslim Mehdavia brothers and sisters to respect and follow the lock down rules of our Government and observe fasts and all the Namaaz at your homes.

I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Ramazan and would like to bring your attention towards some of the relevant verses and hadiths which are relevant at this point of time. Let us combat COVID-19 in the light of Quran & Hadith.

Some Important Hadith of Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] in Connection with Lockdown and our figth against COVID-19 for your kind reference.

1. HOME QUARANTINE: -  It is a prophetic [PBUH] advice, to observe Quarantine, it is stated that “The Plague (Contagion) patient who remains in his home with patience and expectation of reward knowing that nothing will befall him other than Allah’s Decree will attain the reward of a martyr” [Musnad Ahmad Sahih also Bukhaari 2829 and Muslim 1914]

2. SOCIAL DISTANCING: - It is a prophetic [PBUH] command to follow Social Distancing. It is stated that “Those with contagious diseases should be kept away from those who are healthy” [BUKHARI 6771, Muslim 2221].

3. TRAVEL BAN: - It is a prophetic [PBUH] Teaching to Ban Travel whenever there is an outbreak of a deadly disease. Prophet [PBUH] has advised by saying “Do not enter a land where plague (contagious ailment) has broken out” [BUKHARI 5739, Muslim 2219].

4. DO NOT HARM OTHERS: - If you have symptoms of any disease, the Prophet [PBUH] Has advised in a hadith saying “do not cause harm or return harm” [SUNAN Ibn Majah 2340]

5. IF NECESSARY HOUSE IS A MASJID: -The Prophet [PBUH] has said once “The entire earth has been made a MASJID except grave yards and wash rooms” [TIRMIDHI Al Salaah 291]. Hence, following this hadith let us pray at home.

6. THERE IS CURE: - Patience is the virtue, the Prophet [PBUH] has said that “there is no DISEASE that Allah [swt] sent without sending for it a CURE” [BUKHARI volume 7, book 71 number 582].  Let us pray and hope that the cure will be found out soon.

7. FACE MASKING is a Prophetic [PBUH] practice, it is reported in a famous hadith as below; “Prophet [PBUH] while sneezing would cover His Face with His Hand or with His garment” [Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi Book 43 Hadith 2969 Sahih]

8. WUDU [ABLUTION]: - Allah swt says in Holy Quran (S-5-Ay.6) “Yaa ayyu-hallazina ‘aamanuuu izaa qumhum ilas-Salaati faghsluu wujuu –ha-kum wa aydikum ilal –maraafiqi wam-sahuu bi-ru’usikum wa arjula –kum ‘ilal-ka-bayan” “O ye who believe! When ye rise up for prayer wash your faces, and your hands up to the elbows. and lightly rub your heads and [wash] your feet upto the ankles.

Further there is hadith “I, heard the Prophet [PBUH] saying on the day of resurrection my followers will be called Al Ghurr-ul-Muhajjalun from the traces of ablution and whoever can increase the area of his radiance should do so in the most perfect manner” [Sahib Al Bukhari Vol 1 Hadith No. 138]. Hence, let us all follow this practice of being in Wadu all the time.

9. WASH HANDS Every Time You Enter Home: - The Prophet [PBUH] Said: - “Cleanliness is half of faith” [Muslim 223] let us all follow this and try to be clean, by washing our hands more often, and every time we enter our homes.

10. QUARANTINE: - Quarantining oneself is also Prophetic [PBUH] advice. It is stated reported in a hadith as follows “Run away from the leper (the one contagious ailment) as you would run away from a lion” [BUKHARI Volume 7, Book 71, Number 608]. Hence let us quarantine ourselves, and help our Government by staying at our homes.

Dear Brothers & Sisters, Remember, religion will be safe when all the humans are safe. Therefore, it is my humble request follow the above advices in the light of Quran & Hadith.  I also request you all too kindly send this advice to all your family members and friends and join hands in combating the Deadly COVID-19.

Stay Home & Stay Safe. I Pray Almighty Allah to Protect one and all. Aameen.

Ba Sadaqe Tufail Khatimain Alayhi Salam.
