Why a Mahdavi should not follow Non-Mahdavi's in Namaz? - an Essay by Ms. Zainab Hussain..

Why a MAHDAVI who testified (Syedna Mohammed Jaunpuri, As Mahdi Moud(AS)) should not perform Namaz in the leadership of a person who did not accept him as Mahdi-e-Maud(AS)?

We will find the answer in the light of Al Quran, Ahadees Mohammed(PUBH) and from the instructions of Mahdi Maud(AS).

It is crystal clear that it is the responsibility of Mahdi(AS) to give the education of “Zikr Khafi” - secret remembrance of Allah SWT as per the Ayat No: 205 Sura Al ‘A’ra’af.

Therefore, Mahdi(AS) had given the education of “Zikr Khafi” Secret remembrance of Allah SWT to his followers with the Kalima “La-Ilaha-Illallah” as per the instructions of Hazrath “Mohammed (PUBH), which was conveyed to him by Hazrath Khizer (AS), so that the followers could get enlightened themselves with the divine enlightenment either in the dream or Eyes of the Heart or Eyes of the Head.

Before going further let's first understand why Mahdi Maud(AS) has instructed his followers to do Zikrullah with kalima ‘La Ilaha Illallah’ in the light of Ahadess of Mohammed (PUBH).

There are numerous ahdees on Kalmia “La Ilaha Illallah” few of them are...

The Prophet (PUBH said: - "Whoever says there is no god but Allah enters Paradise even if he commits adultery and even if he steals (i.e. even if he commits great sins)." (Nasa'i, Tabarani and others from Abu al-Darda' - sahih)

The statement of Hazrath Mahdi (AS) "If one is busy in Zikurullah every time morning and evening, he will get the enlightenment", is true as Allah SWT says in the Quran in Surah Al Hazab 41, 42 and 43

“O Ye Who Believe! Celebrate The Praises Of Allah, And Do So Often; (41) And Glorify Him, Morning And Evening (42) He It Is Who Sends, Blessings On 'You As Do His Angels, That He May Bring You Out From The Depths Of Darkness Into Light; And He Is Full Of Mercy, To The Believers (43).”

With reference to above Ayat Mahdi (AS) has told that 24 hours Zikurullah is “Farz”.

It is crystal clear from the above that persons, who have not accepted Hazrath Syed Mohammed Jaunpuri AS Mahdi Maud (Expected Mahdi), did not get the education of Zikr-e-Khafi what has been received by him from the Prophet (PUBH). Therefore, Non-Acceptors are the people, who are Ghafil, i.e absent minded from Zikurallah.  According to Quranic Ayat 205 of Surah “Al Araf” we cannot even be with them, the question of praying behind them does not arise.  The confirmation of the above statement can be further had from the 28th Ayat of Surah Kahaf.

In the above mentioned Ayat, Allah SWT is directing the momineen to stay with patience with the people of special group (Fukra-e-Mahdavia) who have relinquished the worldly pleasures for the sake of Allah SWT enlightenment and are busy in Zikurallah in the morning and evening for it and they should not even look away from these pious people so that they may get engulfed themselves with the worldly pleasures.

Further We, Mehdavi's who have totally handed over themselves to the Will Of Allah should not obey (not only in Namaz / Salah but in other acts also) to such a person whose heart has been made hard to remembrance of ALLAH and one, who follows his own desires and whose case has gone beyond all bounds.  Therefore Mahdi (AS) strictly directed his followers, when they go out of Daira, at least two people should go so that they should not miss congregational prayer.

Further Mahdi (AS) warned his followers not to perform salah behind Imam who did not accept and testify him as Promised Mahdi because Mahdi (AS) had not declared himself as Promised Mahdi but it was the Will Of Allah and after repeated instructions from Allah, that if he did not declare himself as Promised Mahdi he would be among the disobedients. Therefore if any one who denies him as Mahdi (AS), it means he is denying the Allah SWT’s instructions; can such person denying Allah’s instructions still remains an obedient Muslim? If such a Muslim becomes an Imam of congregational prayer can a true muslim obey? Certainly not, because he who denies Allah’s instructions means he is denying Allah, his Prophet (PUBH) and the Holy Quran.

The phrase in Dua-e-Qunooth, “We Cast Off And For Sake Him Who Disobey Three.....” accordingly we who have accepted and testified Mahdi (AS). Acceptance of Mahdi (AS)  is total acceptance of Allah. Therefore, under any circumstances we cannot pray in the leadership of Non-Mahdavi Imam. Mahdi (AS)  has further instructed us, in case by mistake any Mahdavi performs Salah under the leadership Non-Mahdavi Imam, then he should repeat his Salah, means earlier Salah which has been performed is null and void.

Despite these warnings if anyone is performing Salah behind an Imam who is Munker Mahdi (AS). He is doing against the instructions of Allah (Do not be among those who do not remember Allah… Do not obey them, whose heart has been made hard for Allah‘s remembrance).

Some people if they perform Salah in other Masjid thinking if they do, so they may not get the help of those people, Allah’s instructions in such a case is as under: Surah Al Imran (149-150)

“O Ye Who Believe! If Ye Obey The Unbelivers, They Will Drive You Back On Your Heels, And Ye Will Turn Back (From Faith) To Your Own Loss (149) Nay, Allah Is Your Protector, And He Is The Best Of Helpers” (150)

Generally it has been seen those who perform Salah behind the people whose heart has been made hard for Allah’s remembrance (Munkereen) they are not stubborn in their faith.

Allah swt has shown in the Quran Ayat NO: 22 and 23 of Surah Az Zumar the difference between a Zakir (he who remembers Allah) and a Ghafil (who is absent minded with Allah’s remembrances).

The above mentioned two Ayats of Sura Zumar, are enough to accept Syed Mohammed Jaunpuri As Mahdi (AS), because His main mission was to guide the people. The manner in which they should totally submit to Allah’s will quitting worldly pleasures and with secret remembrance of Allah.

Allah says when one gets trembled with the fear of Allah and their hearts get soften and turn towards Allah’s remembrance, then this is Allah’s Guidance. Mahdi (AS) has given complete education to achieve the above mentioned Allah’s Guidance then he who denies him, he is denying Allah’s Guidance.

Ayat No: 33 Surah Zumar:  “And he ( Mahdi ) who brings the Truth and he (Mahdavi) who confirm (And supports) it such are the men who do right”

Conclusion: Need of An Hour is - Avoid the company of Non-Mehdavis especially during salah time in order to not to follow them (As Mehdi AS said).
