Hope all have come out of the tubulent times of pandemic, and celebrating this Ramazan Normally as earlier. We take this oppurtunity to Wish you a Happy Mahe Ramazan. At Mehdavia Times, it is our honour and privilege to continuously connect with you all and keeping the engagement between us for the benefit of our community.

Alhamdulillah the First & Second International Essay Writing Competitions of 2020 & 2021 which were done during the last couple of Ramazans were very successful as we got very good response in all the categories. We have also published select essay in our blog for your reading, hope you all went through them and reaped the benefits.

We take this opportunity to announce The 3^rd Mehdavia Times International Essay Writing Competition Ramazan - 1443 H – 2022 and invite the applications from all the participants to take part in large numbers.

Objective of this Competition:

• To encourage spirit of reading, referring religious books,
• To develop understanding Islamic & Mehdavia history,
• To encourage discussing and seeking guidance from elders of our community and murshideen,
• To ensure adoption of continuous learning, and developing effective communication skills, and
• To make right use of spending quality time during Ramazan.

 Topic:                     ‘Role of our Character and Manners during current Scenario’

(Daure Hazir Me Hamare Akhlaq Wa Kirdar)

The prime reason to choose this topic is to build good character and develop good manners in the light of Quran, Hadiths, Naqliyat and Seerath of Khatimain AH and Buzurgane-e-Deen display the same, as we all are witnessing peculiar situations in our nations at present.

Categories:

• Junior     : candidates from 7^th, 8^th & 9^th Standard or equivalent age bracket
• Middle   :  candidates from 10^th, 11^th,& 12^th (SSLC & PUC) or equivalent age bracket
• Senior    : candidates above 12^th/PUC, Graduates etc or equivalent age bracket ( no upper age limit)

 Languages: (there will be 3 categories in each language)

Urdu

Roman Urdu ( though we wanted to drop this category, we continued to announce it again due to public demand and in last two years we got huge participation in this category)

Time Lines: Last date to submit the completed essays is Wednesday, 29th Ramazan 1443 H / 1^st  May 2021.  (or Eid ki Chandraat /  day before Eid-ul-Fitr whichever is earlier as India).

Guidelines on Format & Content

All entries should follow the following rules strictly

• Where & How to send: by Email to mehdaviatimes@gmail.com
• References from Quran, Hadiths, Naqliath and Seerath should be mentioned / quoted
• You may share your experiences w.r.t the topic.
• The essay should be sent in M.S word format
• References should be given at the end of the essay, in proper sequence and numbering
• It is always recommended to get it authenticated by your parents / murshid.
• Quranic verses should be properly mentioned (Surah No. XX | Verse No. YY)
• Copying and pasting from other sources is not encouraged, suggest to present any topic that has high relevance to the need of the hour.
• There has to be consistency between title and subject.
• It is highly recommended to add the practical / realistic flavour to any topic that you select.
• Entries received after Ramazan will not be included for this competition, however we may consider them for our next competition or publication.
• Please ensure that you submit the following mandatory details along with your essay in MS Excel format in exactly the same sequence – without which we cannot entertain incomplete applications, which lead to unnecessary delaying evaluation process.

Evaluation Process: All essays will be evaluated by an evaluation panel for which Mehdavia Times will identify eminent scholars and senior writers / teachers from our community for each language, and weighted average score will be given. The entries scoring top three positions will be rewarded suitably. The jury decision will be final in all aspects.
