Dr. Hafiz Karnataki Sahab has been given the prestigious Sahitya Academi’s Bal Sahitya Puraskar

Bangalore 2 Dec 2021: Its pleasure meeting Shikaripur-based famous Urdu writer Dr. Hafiz Karnataki Sahab, who has been given the prestigious Sahitya Academi’s Bal Sahitya Puraskar of 2020. He received the award for his book 'Fakr-E-Watan', a work on freedom fighters of India.

We took the opportunity to congratulate him at a Tehniyati Program organised by Karnataka Urdu Poets Association today (2nd Dec 2021) in Bangalore along with other members of کائناتِ ادب بنگلور - Kainaat.e.Adab, Bangalore  particularly Janab Suhail Nizami Saheb, Janab Abdul Azeez Saheb, & Janab Ifteqar Ahmed Sharif Saheb and Janab Mubeen Munaver Saheb - Ex-Chairman Karnataka Urdu Academy,   & Janab Syed Irfanulla Khadri Saheb of  Karnataka Urdu Poets Association.

Mr. Karnataki, nurtured his interest in Urdu literature at a very young age, as he was born into a family of teachers in Shikaripur. Keeping his family's tradition he too became a teacher at a government primary school in 1987 and worked at various schools and took VRS in the year 2006. And started his educational institution at Shikaripura, which has about 3,000  girls students. 

He began his literary career as a poet in the 1980s and later turned towards writing for children. So far, he has written and published 99 books, and the 100th book is also getting ready to be released soon. He has translated many vacahanas of Basavanna and Akkamahadevi and writings of Kuvempu into Urdu. He has also served Karnataka Urdu Academy being its chairman. In 2013, Gulbarga University honored him with an honorary doctorate for his outstanding contribution to the field of Urdu literature.

I am lucky to get his autographed book Aaina-e-Jamaal / آئینہ جمال - a collection of Naatiya Poems on the Love of Prophet Mohammed Sallelahu Alaihi wa Sallam. 

May Allah give more such awards recognition and success in both the worlds to all our brethren who are working in various fields and professions and spreading the message of peace. Aameen.
